These Dancers

I saw them dance the other day
And this I often do.
They moved rhythmically,
Like the sound of the music
Had sewn them together,
To move in sync.
Then a song I do not know
But I begin to sing.
The dance floor
Ever so white.
The flute I play
Ever so its colour.
Inspiration!
Has me on the playlist
My flute,now a baton
Disguised: my pen.
I conduct the orchestra
And these dancers
Dance a poem.
I'm just a poet
Making these words dance,
From a randomly chosen song
Inspiration on shuffle
You're next on the playlist.
You are a poet,
Do make words dance.

MEDIE-TATION BUTTERFLAE EFFECT

You
Enter
My mind
With no permission

And
Ripple
Up
The fluids
Of my brain.
You Michael Phelps into
The pool of my mind,
Propelling yourself gracefully
With the deft of an Olympic swimmer
As you intermittently immerse your thoughts
In mine
And
Diffuse them in a slow submersion.
Sinking without drowning,
Heading for my cerebral cortex

You see
The secret is found in the core of your text:
What you write
How
You write.
It is beautiful.
I don't see when you plant the seeds
But it suddenly becomes fruitful.

I like me a female
With a beautiful brain,
A beautiful heart.
These two
Before a beautiful face.

Yes you have an effect on me as a poet.
As you flap the wings of your poems
In the Rio de Janeiro of my unconciousness
And butterfly-effect my perception
Changing the weather of the actions of my Chicago.

I read your works
And I easily meditate
On the power
Of poetry.

You keep me thinking...

THE POWER OF POETRY

Prologue:

If I heard that poetry was dead
I'll cut my head so I'll live instead.
I'll do the impossible
Because truth is not plausible
And everything I do will be free
Not forcible...

If you look long
And deep enough
You'll realize that everyone is a poet
I am a poet
You are a poet;
We are all poets.
But it is locked up,
Down here (the mind)
And up here (the heart).

The poem:
After a few hours later,I am back free-styling
With the free powers of poetry
Potent enough to raise the dead from the cemetery.
Words unexpressed within you are dead;
Heart, brain, lungs, liver.
As I count how many times
You try to say the unsaid
On my fingers and toes
Keeping track of it in my head.
You show how powerless you are
Until I see your lips begin to quiver
Because the words within you are so hot like lava
That makes your soul shiver.
Oh mama, like a mother in labour
You begin to deliver words which cut up your mouth
And heals you back.
But you're so torn up and you seem stressed
And so I sow you up like a seamstress
With truth as my needle and honesty as my thread.
Use the free powers of poetry
Because words unexpressed within you are dead
Until you give them life with your lip.
Be the captain of your life
And please...don't abandon ship.
Read...write...and let the pages flip
UNLEASH THE POET!
